The Greek Orthodox Community of the Annunciation is a congregation of Greek Orthodox Christians, in their large majority of Hellenic origin, including a few Palestinians, Irish and Eastern Europeans. The base of our Community is the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation at 46 Arbour Hill, Dublin 7, D07 C958. Our Church is the only Greek Orthodox Church in Ireland and is mostly in operation on Sundays, with the Divine Liturgy staring at 11 am until approximately 12:15 pm. The Divine Liturgy is celebrated both in Greek and English. Our Priest in Charge, Rev. Fr Thomas Carroll, welcomes everyone who wishes to attend.
Adjacent to the Church there is our Community Hall, which is used for gatherings after the Divine Liturgy on Sundays, where we welcome all our Greek compatriots, and not only, who wish to come and meet us over coffee and tea. In addition, we provide this area to the Hellenic Community of Ireland for the delivery of Greek language classes, from Monday to Saturday, accommodating various ages and levels of learners, including juniors and adults.
The infant should be Baptised on the 40th. day or as soon as possible after that. The infant must be given the name of a saint from the Orthodox calendar.
The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation is registered by the Irish government as a place in which marriage may be officiated (The named clergy are registered by the state as Registrars of Marriages). For the marriage to take place there is a procedure that is required
